What’s Your Story?

What's your story-

What’s Your Story?

When I was young, I enjoyed participating with ‘Mari kita bercerita’, ‘Bintang Kecil’ and participated in Wordplay, Debate Team and Speech Competitions. Funny how when we are in High School we think of what it would be like being in an Adult and being apart of the Work-Force (back then I wanted to be part of a Corporate Management Team) or a lawyer.

If I could write a letter to my younger self 10 to 15 years back. I would tell myself this:

1- Don’t be afraid to be yourself

As we grow older, we learn so many things about life and learning new skills that sometimes we forget what makes ‘You’ you. We get so caught up with our surroundings that we are afraid to show who we are and where we come from because we are afraid of being judge. Stop! Right there. Don’t lose yourself in the process. But embrace yourself to emerge your uniqueness in your surroundings.

2- Let your Voice be heard

Don’t be afraid to let your voice be heard. Be confident and never doubt yourself for a second. Raise your voice and be different from the crowd.

3- Discover yourself each day

We can easily forget who we are, we can forget to raise our voice especially in a world that is filled with negativity. Break yourself free and give yourself a break every now and then. It is ok to have some ‘ME-TIME’ or Alone time to gather your thoughts. Do your favourite things to discover yourself such as reading, doing your favourite sports, hang-out with close friends, travel and see the world.

4- Embrace change

Change is a scary process. Some say that change is Taboo. A topic that no-one likes to talk about. And change has different meanings to different people. But always remember that Change can be positive,  embrace change with open arms, you might never know what opportunity that might come your way.

5- It’s OK to be Different

Don’t ask yourself why you are not NORMAL? But ask yourself this. How I can be ‘Different’.

Noticed how rainbows have different colors?

It is the different colors that makes a Rainbow.

BE YOURSELF,

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD,

DISCOVER SOMETHING NEW ABOUT YOURSELF EACH DAY, WELCOME CHANGE WITH POSITIVITY

AND

DON’T WORRY BE HAPPY,

BEING DIFFERENT IS OK.
